An academy focused on the integration of astronomy with architecture and how each field can inform the other. The building is designed to blur the line between architecture, art, monument, and scientific instrument. The design allows the building to be used as a tool to better understand the cosmos. Climate, geographic, and light pollution data was analyzed to determine the site, being S P Crater in Arizona. All angles and alignments of the design relate to the stars and the changing sky, allowing the building to meet with the sky, connecting the earth and the heavens.
